Add to the tally

Thanks very much to all the comrades who contributed to the Weekly Worker fighting fund over the last seven days. Topping the lot was comrade LM, with her fantastic £100, followed by PB with her brilliant £80 and TW with her excellent £75. Yes, that’s right - it’s the women who topped the poll this week!

Others who donated by bank transfer or standing order was a fourth female contributor, comrade OG, whose £56 came in two separate payments. Then there were comrades AN (£50), TR (£40), JS (£30), PM, CC and MD (£10 each). On top of that we had six PayPal contributions - thank you, comrades PM (£50), AB (£11), SO, AR, GP and RD (£5). Also contributing a fiver were comrades Hassan and PB, who both handed a £5 note to one of our team.

All that came to £552, taking our total for September up to £1,214. However, as I was saying last week, we were hoping for something like £715 by today, which would have taken us halfway to our monthly £2,750 target, with more than half the month gone. So now we still need over £1,500, with exactly two weeks to go.

But we can do it! Firstly I’m expecting a few large standing orders pretty soon and I’m hoping that lots of other comrades will now add to the tally. Only you, our readers and supporters, will do what is necessary to make sure the Weekly Worker can keep playing its vital role in the campaign for the organisation so desperately needed by our class - a united, principled, genuinely democratic Marxist party, thriving on full and open debate.
